We currently have an opening for a remote, Part-Time Compensation Consultant to work as a direct client resource.
We’re looking for a Compensation Consultant who can do more than just manage pay programs. The ideal candidate will be a strategic problem solver, capable of aligning compensation strategies with business objectives and navigating the complexities of legal and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct job evaluations using established systems, establish job grade assignments, establish FLSA status, maintain accurate job descriptions, and participate in assigned salary surveys
- Assist in developing and administering short-term and long-term incentive plans, including bonuses, commissions, and equity plans.
- Ensure effective management and maintenance of current plans, systems, and tools, including but not limited to maintaining the company’s salary grades and job classification structures within HR systems and tools and analyzing pay practices, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with all applicable legal standards.
- Lead compensation-related projects, including annual compensation reviews and special compensation initiatives.
- Provide guidance to the business and develop methodological solutions on various total compensation issues, including setting appropriate pay levels, base pay, annual incentive pay, and other rewards.
- Assist with the design of compensation programs and implement and continuously improve compensation programs and processes that are a vehicle to attract, motivate, and retain highly productive employees.
- Identify key compensation trends, issues, and opportunities, offer alternatives, and recommend action plans to assigned clients, management, or executives that support the organizations philosophy.
- Partner closely with other HR expert teams on design, policy development, guidelines, and implementation of crucial compensation programs.
- Provide strategic consulting on compensation plans and programs that support business goals. Actively participate in the rollout of company-wide HR initiatives and programs.
NOTE: When not on assignment, this position will work on similar projects and deliverables with our project division.
QUALIFICATIONS
What You’ll Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or another field that uses quantitative analysis or four years of relevant work experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in managing, designing, and implementing pay programs.
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, legal compliance, and global compensation practices.
- Ability to take the initiative and manage multiple projects successfully in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to consult effectively with all management levels, including executives, the ability to influence others without direct position power, and to earn credibility and client trust. Demonstrated skill and effectiveness as a relationship builder and internal consultant.
- Close attention to detail, strong organization skills, and meticulous, analytical capability.
- Practical knowledge of the implications of government regulatory guidelines on compensation programs.
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and the development of charts and graphs to support recommendations.
- Proficiency in HRIS (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM), compensation management software (e.g., PayScale, CompAnalyst), and data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Intense research, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and technical skills.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills with an ability to communicate financial data and systems understandably to all levels of management and staff.
- Organization wide change management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Data orientation, including experience building models and forecasts
- Project management experience
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification
- Experience in managing compensation for a global workforce.
- Proven ability to effectively facilitate groups and strong presentation skills.

Hourly rate: $55-$65 per hour, depending on experience
