The Communications Manager for Executive Comms reports to the VP of Member Experience, Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility and is responsible for the design and creation of strategic executive communications and assets to senior leadership and board of directors.
The Communications Manager for Executive Comms is a key new role in the Growth division. The ideal candidate will design and create strategic communications to the senior leadership team or board of directors incorporating input from leaders and key functional areas. This includes the creation of key strategy assets and presentations in collaboration with Growth division VPs that are intended to inform leadership and the board of directors about market, product or philanthropy positioning and strategic recommendations to drive understanding, buy-in and decisions. The Strategist should be comfortable working with and providing counsel to VP and c-suite executives on a regular basis. This position is not a tactical internal communications role.
SKILLS
- Superior writing, editing and verbal communications skills particularly in how to take strategic concepts and design them into compelling assets that are easily understood and drive discussion
- Presentation creation wizard taking highly detailed information and turning it into strategic intent. Ability to structure the story at the executive level and craft it visually.
- Demonstrated ability to gather key information from a variety of sources and departments and translate that into compelling white papers or presentations.
- Ability to inspire and influence peers and leaders in a matrixed organization, providing counsel on communications best practices that shape discussion and decisions
- Demonstrated ability to maintain focus on strategic impact of communications programs and counsel offered to colleagues and leaders in the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated confidence, grace under pressure and adaptability in a rapidly changing and evolving workplace.
- Ability to prioritize and manage high-volume of projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
- Other duties include providing strategic counsel to executives and business partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field required.
- 8+ years’ experience in corporate communication department or related field; that includes health care industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi-topic senior-level communications impacting strategic decisions.
- PowerPoint expert in design and functionality.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint portal environment, preferably as a super user.
- Highly collaborative, a team player, and excited to take on new challenges.
PREFERRED:
- Miro and more modern strategic communication tool experience.
Work-at-home requirements
- Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30×5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
- Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
- Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.The annual base salary range for this position is $104,643 – $147,509 USD.
