Schedule
- Remote (must live in: AL, AZ, AR, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MS, MO, MT, NE, NH, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI, WY)
- Regular schedule: 10:00am–7:00pm EST, Monday–Friday
- Occasional Saturday hours
- Training schedule: 8:00am–5:00pm EST for the first 5 weeks
What You’ll Do
- Contact responsible parties by phone and written communication to determine delinquency causes
- Build repayment arrangements and plans to reinstate member obligations
- Recommend appropriate next actions to your supervisor when risk jeopardizes the credit union’s interest
- Use integrity-based approaches to guide resolutions (and reduce future delinquency)
- Cross-sell relevant credit union products and services when appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation using automated collections software
- Support member communication with strong negotiation, analysis, and professionalism
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred)
- 2+ years of collections experience
- 2+ years of direct customer service and sales experience
- Knowledge of debtor/creditor collection law, FDCPA, and Florida statutes related to consumer debt collection
- Familiarity with bankruptcy law (plus)
- Strong verbal, telephonic, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of consumer loans, indirect/direct auto, credit cards, and mortgages (preferred)
- Call center experience (plus)
- Comfortable with office/PC equipment and automated collections software
- Plus: Spanish bilingual
