What You’ll Do
• Contact clients daily by phone, email, and written correspondence to secure payments and resolve balances
• Use creative problem-solving to address slow pay issues and keep accounts moving
• Review AR aging reports to identify at-risk accounts and build a structured follow-up timeline
• Work with AR and clients to resolve short or overpayments and clear unapplied cash
• Manage workload across multiple systems and tools efficiently
• Follow up on payment commitments, escalate when necessary, and ensure payments land as promised
• Identify and communicate credit risk concerns to management
• Recommend escalation steps such as credit holds or external collections placement when appropriate
• Assist with approved bad-debt write-offs and maintain supporting documentation
• Generate and analyze reports to track and reduce AR and collections risk
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting to resolve billing discrepancies and maintain accuracy
• Document all activity clearly in CRM and billing systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Maxio noted)
• Support continuous improvement efforts and follow all collection policies and debt collection regulations
What You Need
• 3+ years of collections experience required (B2B preferred)
• In-house collections experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including handling tough conversations professionally
• High attention to detail and strong organization in a multi-deadline environment
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word), with advanced Excel preferred
• Experience with NetSuite and Maxio (Chargify) is a plus
• Salesforce experience preferred
• Customer service mindset with an empathetic but firm approach
