Remote role supporting clinical operations during business hours. Reliable internet and a private workspace are required.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to inbound patient calls and conduct outbound follow-ups
- Answer questions about prescription status, prior authorizations, labs and imaging, and referrals using approved workflows
- Review patient charts in the EHR to confirm status of orders, prescriptions, and referrals
- Document all patient interactions accurately in the EHR
- Route requests to Medical Assistants, RNs, or providers per escalation protocols
- Track outstanding requests and follow up to ensure resolution
- Follow HIPAA and PHI handling requirements and meet service-level expectations
- Participate in training, QA reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Need
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare contact center, medical office, or clinical operations environment
- Experience working with EHR systems (Athenahealth preferred)
- Understanding of outpatient workflows: prescriptions, labs, referrals, prior authorizations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to follow structured workflows
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
