Primary Responsibilities:
- Take calls from providers regarding chemotherapy and specialty eligibility
- Determine if the consumers are eligible for a health program
- Connect consumers to a nurse
- Take calls from providers and enter services that they are requesting into the system
- Must have accurate documentation
- Must meet weekly metrics
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 6+ months of experience working with ICD – 9 / 10 and CPT codes
- 1+ years of customer service experience in a call center environment
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare or medical billing
- Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in a clerical or administrative support related role
- Experience working with Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving documents) and Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, and sort spreadsheets, basic analytical formulas (VLOOKUP, if)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
