What You’ll Do
- Audit and review complex Medicare claims, patient records, and billing practices
- Verify coding accuracy and compliance with CMS guidelines
- Investigate deficiencies and consult with clinicians on documentation issues
- Prepare and submit complex reimbursement claims in a managed care environment
- Research pricing, reimbursement, and appeals processes
- Provide expertise to clinics and act as an advocate on reimbursement issues
- Conduct special projects including claims reconciliation and medical necessity reviews
- Accurately process complex claims with attention to detail
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience with payor policies, reimbursement, medical policy, and appeals
- Strong knowledge of Medicare audits, reimbursement rules, and medical terminology
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office and EHR systems (OPS, NextGen)
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and/or certification as a Medicare Auditor or Medical Audit Specialist
