About the Role
Coalition’s Insurance Operations team focuses on helping our Insurance business achieve efficiencies at scale through technology, process, outsourcing, and investment. The Claims team at Coalition stands apart for our outstanding level of customer service and knowledgeable handling of claims for our insureds. As a team, Coalition is about finding ways to help our stakeholders find a solution to cyber riskAs we continue to grow, the Claims Operations Associate creates value for our team, helping to improve our approach to data, analytics, and efficiencies by leading and supporting several important areas for Claims and Insurance Operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as first point of contact via both email and phone for Coalition’s brokers and policyholders who experience cyber incidents, driving confidence and certainty that our process will lead to effective resolutions for all parties;
- Handle the intake of cyber events, including the coordination with breach counsel, forensic investigators, other vendors, and assist with communication;;
- Lead the claims setup process in our internal systems, ensuring effective data accuracy and routing in assignment of claims to team resources;
- Ensure accuracy and assist in claim closeout and reconciliation processes;
- Build expertise in Coalition claims processes. Become a subject matter expert in operational matters for our claims team;
- Establish strong working relationships with Coalition colleagues in multiple departments; participating in both Claims and Insurance Operations activities to learn and apply knowledge as we drive future improvements;
- Become a subject matter expert in existing and future claims platforms, ensuring continuity of operations for internal and external stakeholders;
- Provide data to underwriting, security and other stakeholders to help close the claims feedback loop for our business; and
- Recommend process and efficiency improvements as we continue to grow and expand.
Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer support/customer service role or a strong desire to learn
- Prior experience, knowledge, and interest in the claims function of an insurance carrier/MGA, broker, or other organization in the risk management ecosystem
- Excellent interactive and communication capabilities, both written and verbal, especially in customer-facing roles
- Calm, professional demeanor in verbal and written communication – even in the face of stressful communication on critical claims matters
- Resourceful, enthusiastic, and desire to operate in a start-up environment – if you’re looking for an opportunity to learn and expand your skill set, this is the place

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $54,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $78,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee’s pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Your recruiter can share more on target salary for your location during the interview process. Coalition, Inc. reserves the right to modify this range as needed.
