What You’ll Do
- Handle WC claims end-to-end: setup through closure
- Complete timely 3-point contact and keep investigating as facts evolve
- Make compensability decisions within statutory timelines
- Set and adjust reserves accurately within authority limits
- Administer statutory medical and indemnity benefits throughout the claim life
- Stay compliant with all jurisdictional rules and regulations
- Manage litigation: coordinate defense counsel, control legal activity, manage fees/costs
- Identify early resolution opportunities and negotiate settlements
- Support agents and insureds with claim guidance, status updates, coverage verification, and loss runs
- Partner with TPAs and claims partners to drive outcomes and customer experience
- Spot gaps in SOPs/processes and push improvements
What You Need
- High school diploma/GED (some college/Bachelor’s preferred)
- 2+ years workers’ comp claims adjusting experience (required)
- Preferred experience handling claims in MD, NJ, PA, and VA
- Strong written/verbal communication (explaining complex stuff clearly)
- Strong problem-solving with minimal hand-holding
- Working knowledge of WC regulatory/statutory rules plus CMS/MSA considerations
- Experience with claim adjudication, medical management, and litigation management
- Comfort working across tools (G-Suite; Slack preferred)
- Conflict navigation skills (getting to outcomes without lighting the room on fire)
