Schedule
- Full-time, remote (must be based in California or U.S. eligible states)
- May require routine or periodic travel for mediations, client meetings, or claims activities
Responsibilities
- Act as lead adjuster on financial services claims for large national accounts
- Analyze coverage under professional liability policies (e.g., Securities Broker/Dealer, Investment Management, Financial Institution Professional Liability, Life Agents Professional Liability)
- Assign and oversee defense counsel; monitor litigation and direct strategy
- Engage in daily settlement negotiations with outside counsel and claimants; attend mediations
- Investigate facts of loss, secure documentation, and review supporting records
- Draft reservation of rights and coverage denials for approval
- Ensure compliance with Fair Claims Practices 790.03
- Identify claims exceeding authority and escalate to supervisors and underwriting contacts
- Serve as liaison with underwriting and sponsoring companies; provide reporting and coordination
- Monitor and report loss trends and unique file issues
- Deliver regular updates to insureds, claimants, and sponsoring companies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. preferred
- 3–5 years litigation and claims management experience
- Securities or financial services claims experience strongly preferred
- Must be licensed as a Qualified Claims Manager within 90 days of hire, with additional state licenses as needed
- Strong written, verbal, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinker, detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated
Pay Range
- $95,000 – $120,000 annually
