If you can take flat reference images and turn them into believable, production-ready 3D characters, this gig is for you. You’ll model humans and other organic forms with clean topology, strong anatomy, and the kind of detail that holds up under scrutiny, then document your process so the AI learns from real expert thinking.

What You’ll Do
- Translate 2D reference images into precise 3D models with accurate proportions, volumes, and topology
- Source additional references to solve occlusions, missing angles, or unclear details
- Produce high-quality models across:
- Organic characters: humans (including realistic digital doubles), animals, plants, natural forms
- Hard surface assets as needed: props, gear, machinery elements
- Environment/architecture assets as needed: set pieces, structures, world assets
- Iterate based on feedback and match quality standards and artistic direction
What You Need
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in 3D Art, Animation, Game Design, Computer Graphics (or equivalent professional experience)
- Proficiency with tools like Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Houdini, 3ds Max
- Familiarity with UV + texturing workflows (Substance Painter, Mari)
- Portfolio showing character/organic strength (anatomy, likeness, materials), plus some range in other asset types
- Strong understanding of anatomy, form, silhouette, and material definition
- Ability to clearly explain decisions and steps (“show your work”)
- Comfortable in iterative pipelines and feedback loops
Benefits
- $22/hour
- Remote contract flexibility
- Work that rewards craft, anatomy knowledge, and clean process documentation
Quick reality check: the posting says “Entry Level,” but “realistic digital doubles” is a serious bar. If your portfolio doesn’t include at least one strong human character model (clean topology + believable forms), this is a tough swing.
