Description
PETA is looking for candidates to seek out, oversee, and coordinate a wide variety of efforts to push animal issues into the media spotlight and public consciousness. Past projects have included coordinating our vegan-friendly ballpark rankings, roadside memorials to honor animals killed during transport, provocative (and sometimes controversial) ad campaigns, and more. We’re interested in candidates with excellent written and verbal communication skills who are organized, think critically, take initiative, and feel comfortable in a fast-paced work environment. Position Objective:

To research and coordinate special projects related to PETA’s campaign work nationally and internationally

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Independently coordinate a wide variety of projects for PETA’s campaigns, including conducting research and writing analyses

• Seek out and develop efforts to further push campaigns into the media spotlight and the public consciousness

• Develop and execute initiatives to push animal rights issues into the media spotlight

• Draft letters, action alerts, talking points, and other documents

• Manage internal project and campaign communication

• Attend local events to make an impact in your community, upon occasion

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements
• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum of two years of relevant experience

• Proven excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Proven excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proven ability to produce exceptional, accurate research and analysis

• Proven thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns

• Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments, multitask, and work independently

• Adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle

• This position requires proof of the COVID-19 full vaccination and booster

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow-through

• Commitment to the objectives of the organization

The hourly pay range for this position is $17.87 – $21.97 per hour. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
