Responsibilities
- Drive growth within defined markets and technologies by focusing primarily on developing opportunities with new and prospective customers. This role is heavily centered on specialty chemicals and innovation-driven projects.
- Uncover and understand customer value drivers, preparing compelling Clariant solutions and introducing new products to meet customer needs.
- Create and follow up on leads and opportunities within designated customers and end markets.
- Manage a healthy CRM pipeline, guiding opportunities through each stage—discovery and introduction, sampling, follow-up, quotation, and ultimately closing initial sales.
- Collaborate closely with Application Development and R&D teams to create innovative chemical products and solutions tailored to market demands.
- Oversee opportunities from initiation through to successful closure, handing over the business to Account Managers after securing initial sales.
- Operate within a coordinated team structure, working alongside account management, marketing, and technical organizations.
- Provide valuable input to regional and global innovation and marketing teams regarding market needs and growth potential.
- Leverage marketing experience to stay current with market trends, analyze and digest industry developments, and apply this knowledge to identify opportunities and inform strategy.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Business, or a related field along with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- A robust sales orientation with a proven ability to drive results, motivate achievement, and create value through tailored solutions. Demonstrated capability in simplifying complex information and influencing stakeholders.
- A results-driven mindset with a passion for surpassing targets and a proactive approach to generating new business opportunities at a rapid pace.
- Proven expertise in new business development, combining technical knowledge with business and sales acumen to successfully convert opportunities into sales.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively.
