This role is for a real-deal bookkeeper who can also be a calm, trusted guide for small business owners. You’ll own month-end accuracy, keep books clean and on time, and help home service Pros actually understand what their financial statements are saying.

About Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro builds tools that help home service professionals run their businesses better, from scheduling and payments to growth support. Their Accounting Solutions team delivers ongoing bookkeeping on their platform so Pros can stay confident, organized, and ready to scale.

Schedule
Remote (United States).
Month-end deadline driven work with recurring client communication throughout the month.
Portfolio-based role balancing bookkeeping execution, review, and relationship management.

What You’ll Do

⦁ Deliver world-class service to your portfolio through proactive communication and clear explanations of financial statements
⦁ Engage Pros regularly to collect documentation, share updates, and surface insights throughout the month
⦁ Partner with internal bookkeepers supporting your accounts to keep work moving and ensure books are accurate and on schedule
⦁ Own month-end close for your accounts: review, verify, reconcile, and deliver completed books by deadlines
⦁ Troubleshoot and answer client questions around financial statement errors, chart of accounts cleanup, sales tax, A/P and A/R issues, merchant services, and third-party interactions
⦁ Provide timely follow-ups and maintain a smooth, organized customer experience
⦁ Look for ways to improve efficiency and accuracy across your portfolio

What You Need

⦁ 3+ years of U.S. bookkeeping/accounting experience with strong SMB accounting knowledge
⦁ Experience with month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis, plus A/P and A/R
⦁ Experience consolidating and preparing financial statements
⦁ Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance or equivalent credentials/experience (QBO ProAdvisor or similar works)
⦁ 1+ year experience leading or mentoring others
⦁ Comfort advising clients directly and explaining financial concepts to non-accountants
⦁ Strong organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

Benefits

⦁ Hourly pay range: $27.38–$32.21/hr (location/experience dependent)
⦁ Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k)
⦁ Flexible, take-it-as-you-need-it PTO and paid holidays
⦁ Monthly tech reimbursements
⦁ Paid parental leave and Employee Assistance Program
⦁ Growth-oriented culture with cross-functional exposure (Tax, Payroll, and more)

Quick reality check: this isn’t an entry-level bookkeeping seat. If you don’t have real month-end close reps and client-facing confidence, it’ll be rough. But if you do, this is a clean “expert + relationship manager” hybrid role.

Happy Hunting,
