Schedule
- Remote, full-time role based in the U.S.
- Monday–Friday, between 8:00am–8:00pm EST (8-hour shift)
- Rotational schedule alternating between inbound calls and handling tickets, emails, and outbound calls
What You’ll Do
- Respond to billing inquiries from patients, providers, and insurers via phone and email
- Manage inbound/outbound queues, including faxes, medical hold forms, and benefit verification requests
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, processing payments, refunds, and adjustments
- Support prior authorization and claim submission processes by contacting clients and insurance carriers
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions and patient data
- Collaborate with finance and customer service teams to improve billing operations
- Educate clients about billing policies and payment options
- Identify and recommend process improvements for billing procedures
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1+ years of billing or customer support experience, ideally in healthcare or laboratory settings
- Knowledge of medical terminology and 3rd party payor policies
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office; billing software experience (Xifin, Careviso) a plus
- Strong accuracy in data entry and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Empathy, professionalism, and a customer-focused approach
Preferred
- 1–3 years of clinical laboratory, healthcare, insurance, or billing support experience
- Experience in a billing role within a laboratory setting
- Bilingual skills a plus
