Operations Associate

We’re looking for a Billing Specialist (100% remote) who is passionate about efficient and accurate commercial insurance and finance. We need someone who can deliver both a world-class customer service experience to our policyholders and agents, while applying their knowledge of risk and coverage to serve our customers, and values team members who view what they do as a craft rather than a job.

Job Responsibilities

As a Billing Specialist, you will ensure we are collecting, charging, and paying our customers and partners appropriately. This role collaborates with Insurance Operations, Customer Advocacy, and Sales teams to make portfolio decisions efficiently and accurately for new and renewal small commercial business. This includes overseeing payments, customer billing; following up with customers and agents; initiating collections and paying commissions to our partners. You will work to develop new processes and procedures to help increase efficiencies and standardize our regulatory requirements.

In addition, you’ll work to ensure the quality of our data powers the downstream reporting built by our Engineering and Data teams.

Requirements

• You have an Associate degree or equivalent
• You have 3+ years’ experience handling financial information
• You have 3+ years’ experience in Property casualty operations, personal or commercial
• Responsive to time-sensitive customer inquiries and interacting positively with independent agents.
• Knowledge of commercial insurance and compliance requirements for financial transactions and collections.
• Experience with data reporting and automated underwriting technologies and techniques
• Responsive to time-sensitive customer inquiries and interacting positively with independent agents.
• You’re passionate about creating simpler internal insurance operations procedures.

Bonus

• CPCU, ARM, or CIC designations
• Familiarity with 3rd party data vendors and integrations
• Experience with payment provider platforms.
• Familiarity with ODEN and/or policy administration systems.
• Insuretech experience
• You’re good at navigating ISO and Verisk products, including PAAS and the CLM
