We are seeking to hire a full-time Benefits Specialist. This position is responsible for administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, COBRA, leaves of absence, HSA/FSA and 401(k) plan.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and communicate benefits program including plan options, policy features, enrolment, and other requirements
- Compile, analyze and process data for the 401(k) annual audit
- Administer the implementation of the Benefits Administration System by reviewing data, carrier files and performing system testing
- Review and audit benefit enrolments on all vendor invoices
- Administer the ACA to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Handle routine benefits, and leave of absence questions from employees, and be able to resolve complex and escalated benefit and leave issues
- Ensure accuracy of all benefits enrolments in the benefit administration system to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
- Ensure employee benefits records compliant with all required laws, regulations and internal policies
- Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
- Process and administer leave-of-absence requests with leave administrator
- Interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
- Respond to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrolments, plan changes and contribution amounts
- Manage and maintain vendor relationships ensuring customer service levels are met
- Assist with the open enrolment process
- Participate in the launch of new or updated benefit programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field required
- 3-5 years’ experience in Benefits and/or Workday highly desired
- Experience working in a fast paced, high-growth company
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and welfare plans, life and disability insurance plans, and retirement plans
- Must be proficient in intermediate/advanced Excel
- Working knowledge of statutory benefits requirements including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and IRS rules
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential data with a demonstrated practice of maintaining employee confidentiality and HIPAA compliance requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate, develop partnerships and encourage trust in employees, team members, leaders, and vendors
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues
- Strong time management skills within a remote work environment
