What You’ll Do
- Log and track all incoming appeals in the internal systems
- Review appeals and supporting documentation to determine appropriateness and completeness
- Read and interpret Summary Plan Documents (SPDs) to assess whether an appeal is valid
- Document appeal details, status, and outcomes in Qiclink and internal databases
- Draft appeal responses when needed, ensuring clear, professional communication
- Coordinate with internal business partners and departments to review and resolve appeals
- Follow up on aging or outstanding appeals to keep cases moving forward
- Prioritize incoming referrals so tasks are completed within required timeframes
- Handle other appeal-related duties as assigned by leadership
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience handling medical claims appeals
- Strong knowledge of medical claims processing and appeal workflows
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar tools
- Ability to analyze complex claim situations and take appropriate action
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Ability to learn and navigate new systems and software
- Comfort working independently in a remote, metrics- and deadline-driven environment
