Member of the UHC Intersegment Accounting Team (IAT). The IAT has responsibilities for executing internal transactions mainly between UHC and Optum for over 1,500k Intersegment Service Agreements (ISA). This position will mainly support the transactions, reporting and analysis for M&R.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in the monthly close activities
- Creates, documents journals entries
- Develops detailed of organizational structure (legal entities, segments, etc.)
- Partners closely with the M&R finance and accounting teams, providing P&L estimates and variance explanations of activity
- Investigates issues and resolves questions from the segment regarding intersegment activity
- Works with a great deal of variety and non-standardized transactions, issues, etc.
- Works with others to prioritize and organize daily and month end task to meet deadlines
- Performs quality analytics and other operational controls
- Works on various ad hoc projects throughout the year
- Supports audit requests for legal entity financial reports, MLR and other statutory audits

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 1+ years experience
- Ability to problem solve and work through ambiguous details
- Experience with handling large amounts of data in Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral)
Preferred Qualifications:
- LEAN/Six Sigma certification
- Healthcare experience
- Knowledge of SAS, Power BI, FIN 360, Peoplesoft, and SmartView

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
