Allied Benefit Systems is a Chicago-based third-party administrator (TPA) specializing in flexible, self-funded group health plans for employers across the country. They partner with brokers and employers to design, administer, and optimize medical benefit plans. As an Account Manager, you’ll sit at the center of those relationships, driving client satisfaction and retention.
Schedule
- Full-time, fully remote role
- Standard business hours with some occasional business travel
- Must have reliable high-speed internet (cable or fiber) of at least 100 Mbps download / 25 Mbps upload
What You’ll Do
- Own a dedicated book of Allied clients and serve as the day-to-day contact for employers and brokers
- Act as the liaison between employers, brokers, Client Executives, and internal Allied departments administering self-funded group health plans
- Communicate industry and legislative updates, including ACA-related compliance, to clients as needed
- Manage and resolve escalated employee issues tied to benefit plans
- Conduct quarterly client meetings to review plan performance, build relationships, and support client retention
- Communicate internal changes related to benefit design, financial details, and vendor partner updates
- Prepare and deliver employee presentations, employer portal trainings, and executive summary reviews
- Produce and analyze ad hoc reports for clients, brokers, or Client Executives
- Help manage renewals by monitoring claims, updating plan documents, and coordinating open enrollment for existing employer groups
- Cross-sell Allied solutions and services to deepen relationships with current clients
What You Need
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years of experience in an account management role
- Strong working knowledge of employee medical benefit plans (required)
- Experience with group health insurance and self-funded health plans (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking and benefits presentations
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple clients and deadlines
- Life and Health Insurance Producers license preferred (or willingness to pursue)
