Allied Benefit Systems is a Chicago-based third-party administrator specializing in self-funded group health plans for employers across the country. They design, administer, and support flexible medical benefit plans in partnership with brokers and employer groups. As a bilingual Account Manager, you’ll be a core part of that ecosystem, helping Spanish- and English-speaking clients navigate complex benefits with clarity and confidence.
Schedule
- Full-time, fully remote position
- Standard business hours with some flexibility based on client needs
- Occasional business meetings or presentations (virtual; some travel may be required)
- Must have reliable high-speed internet (cable or fiber) with at least 100 Mbps download / 25 Mbps upload
What You’ll Do
- Manage an assigned book of Allied clients with self-funded group health plans
- Act as the liaison between clients/brokers and Allied executives and internal departments
- Provide communication and support around ACA compliance, claim issue resolution, reporting, and industry/legislative updates
- Conduct quarterly meetings to review plan performance, strengthen relationships, and ensure client satisfaction
- Lead new client implementations, including implementation meetings, tracking open items, and guiding internal teams
- Communicate and coordinate plan changes related to benefit design, contracts, billing, and vendor partners
- Prepare and deliver employee presentations, administrative procedures training, website training, and reporting reviews in English and Spanish
- Produce and analyze ad hoc reports requested by clients, brokers, or Account Executives
- Support renewals through claim reviews, stop-loss marketing coordination, and service-level follow-up
- Cross-sell Allied services and solutions to deepen client engagement
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 2–4 years of Account Manager experience, ideally in benefits, insurance, or health plans
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in both English and Spanish
- Working knowledge of employee medical benefit plans (required)
- Experience with group health insurance and self-funded plans (preferred)
- Strong sales, relationship-building, and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with public speaking in English and Spanish
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities
- Life and Health Insurance Producers license preferred (or willingness to pursue)
