What You’ll Do
- Review and resolve denied claims by contacting payers, researching denial reasons, and confirming accurate billing/coding
- Compile documentation for appeals and collaborate with internal teams to fix editing, coding, and payment issues
- Identify denial trends and partner with billing/coding teams on process improvements to reduce future denials
- Maintain follow-up and communication with insurance companies (and patients as needed) to support timely payment
- Stay current on payer rules, insurance regulations, and managed care contractual requirements
- Support patient calls and customer service inquiries when needed
- Generate reporting on denial trends and key metrics when assigned
- Post electronic and manual payments and complete cash reconciliation/deposit matching when assigned
What You Need
- 3+ years of experience working insurance claim denials, including Medicaid and Medicaid MCOs
- Reliable internet and a private workspace
- Experience with Candid (preferred)
