What You’ll Do
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, primarily via phone, with empathy and follow-through
- Handle a high volume of calls related to scheduling, care coordination, service recovery, and general support
- De-escalate and resolve concerns from frustrated or confused patients using service recovery protocols
- Escalate issues appropriately when needed
- Document interactions accurately in Zendesk and the EHR (Athena or comparable)
- Act as a patient advocate and liaison across departments to drive timely solutions
- Identify recurring issues and share improvement feedback with leadership
- Uphold patient confidentiality across all systems and communication channels
- Live the values: compassion, accountability, respect, integrity, trust
What You Need
- 5+ years in a high-touch, patient-facing role
- 2+ years using Zendesk (or similar ticketing platform)
- 2+ years using Athena (or similar EHR)
- 2+ years using Google Workspace (required)
- Strong written + verbal communication skills
- Experience handling escalated patient complaints/grievances with discretion and empathy
- Solid judgment and decision-making in fast-moving situations
- Bonus: bilingual (Spanish or another language)
