What You’ll Do
- Follow up on invoices sent to payers that have not been paid
- Research claim denials and work them through to resolution (convert denials)
- Contact commercial insurance companies by phone and through payer portals
- Manage a portfolio of payers, staying on top of aging, collections, and denials
- Support billing by reducing denials and keeping payer rules updated
- Hit productivity goals, including processing at least 5 claims per hour
- Meet daily, monthly, and quarterly collections goals
What You Need
- Medical collections experience required (they’re explicit: must have it to be considered)
- 2+ years in a call center environment
- 1+ year in the medical industry with medical terminology familiarity (preferably DME and home healthcare)
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong organization, ethical work habits, and confidence navigating insurance portals
- Solid time management, accountability, and self-direction for remote work
