What You’ll Do
- Handle inbound and outbound patient calls about claims, insurance questions, and payment options
- Work toward first-call resolution whenever possible
- Navigate multiple systems to verify information and resolve issues
- De-escalate tense conversations and guide patients to solutions
- Verify and update patient demographic information as needed
- Explain claim status, required forms, and available options in a clear, patient-friendly way
- Document all interactions accurately and maintain detailed case records
- Gather patient feedback and flag process improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with internal/external teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Follow up with patients to confirm resolution and satisfaction
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect sensitive patient information
- Meet quality, accuracy, timeliness, and attendance expectations
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)
- 1–2 years of customer service, healthcare, or patient advocacy experience preferred
- Familiarity with insurance processes, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations
- Comfortable with call center tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication, empathy, and active listening skills
- Solid problem-solving and time management skills
- Able to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
