What You’ll Do
- Supervise a collections team to recover outstanding receivables across business divisions
- Set collector KPIs and track progress against aging and recovery targets
- Coach, train, and performance-manage collectors through 1:1s and team reviews
- Build and run collections strategies that improve cash flow and reduce bad-debt exposure
- Track and report on DSO, aging trends, recovery rates, and overall collections performance
- Analyze data to spot trends, issues, and workflow/process improvements
- Execute approved bad-debt write-offs and prep documentation for external agencies
- Leverage automation to streamline workflows and improve visibility
- Manage high-risk accounts, escalations, and negotiated payment arrangements
- Partner with Sales and Customer Support to reduce disputes, improve cash flow, and reduce DSO
- Ensure collections activities follow applicable laws and internal policies
- Coordinate with external collection agencies, legal counsel, and third-party vendors as needed
- Support litigation workflows tied to delinquent accounts when required
What You Need
- 5+ years progressive experience in credit/collections management (multi-division or high-volume preferred)
- Proven experience leading a collections team with measurable results and process improvements
- Strong financial analysis skills and ability to assess credit risk and minimize exposure
- Working knowledge of collections compliance, including FDCPA and applicable state laws
- Experience with ERP/accounting/CRM tools (NetSuite, Salesforce); AR modules experience
- Advanced Excel and comfort with reporting tools
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills for complex customer situations
- Organized, deadline-driven, and effective in a fast-paced environment
- Bonus: familiarity with Maxio (Chargify)
