Schedule
- Remote role based in California
- Standard full time schedule
- Occasional travel or attendance for mediations, settlement conferences, or client meetings as needed
- Productivity expectation includes billing at least 80% of the work day
What You’ll Do
- Manage liability and property damage claims from intake through closure using established handling guidelines
- Prepare response letters for Government Claims within required timelines
- Assign and manage investigations and evaluate investigative reports
- Evaluate damages and recommend strategy and resolution options to clients
- Direct defense counsel on litigated files and control defense costs
- Prepare timely reports to reinsurers and required internal and client reporting
- Prepare quarterly write ups for JPAs and superpools
- Set and adjust reserves as claim facts develop
- Identify subrogation opportunities and actively pursue recovery
- Respond to client inquiries and support claim file reviews
- Attend mediations, MSCs, and other settlement related meetings when required
- Maintain accurate claim documentation, notes, and statistics in claim systems
What You Need
- High school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred)
- 5 years of related claims experience
- Ability to hold or obtain appropriate licensing or certification required for the work
- Strong knowledge of claims best practices and industry standards
- Strong negotiation skills and sound judgment for complex claim decisions
- Strong written communication for formal letters, summaries, and reports
- Comfort working in claims and business software systems
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a full desk with deadlines
