Schedule
Full-time, Remote (US Nationwide; open to residents of the 50 states and D.C.)
Available to work Eastern Time zone hours; overtime as needed primarily on payroll days
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and process exempt (biweekly) multi-state payroll end-to-end using Workday and OSV with minimal errors
- Reconcile payroll period to period and support month-end close and reconciliation questions
- Calculate prorated wages and deductions for hires, terminations, and status changes
- Ensure accurate tax and deduction withholdings, including reciprocity considerations
- Manage Workday retros and related processing requirements
- Perform Workday payroll admin tasks, including testing payroll, time tracking, and absence integrations
- Maintain payroll systems and records in compliance with SOX and all federal, state, and local regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll and tax issues with limited supervision
- Provide high-quality support through a ticketing system and model strong customer service
- Handle tax notices independently and complete state/local registrations (including PA, OH, KY LST taxes)
- Manage address change notifications and assess tax implications; guide required tax form completion
- Support quarterly and year-end audits
- Handle prior quarter/year tax adjustments in Workday and complete amendments with the payroll provider
- Support equity and ESPP payroll processing, including tax implications and IRS regulations
- Handle W-2 and income reporting questions and employee tax filing inquiries
- Train teammates on tax-related topics; serve as backup to the Payroll Director as needed
What You Need
- 7+ years of progressive payroll administration experience in Workday (Workday must be the most recent primary system)
- 7+ years independently handling tax notices and managing state/local tax registrations (including PA, OH, KY LST)
- 3+ years supporting finance/accounting with month-end closing and reconciliation questions
- Experience with ticketing systems (ex: Freshservice, Zendesk)
- Strong prioritization and re-prioritization skills in a changing environment
- Ability to lead meetings with diverse stakeholders and provide continuity support to the Payroll Director
- Strong attention to detail, judgment, and discretion with confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- CPP/FPC certification preferred

We anticipate the hourly range to be $22.63 – $39.50 per hour.
