What You’ll Do
- Use the Artiva workflow management system to follow up on patient bills and claims to recover revenue from responsible business entities (commercial and government payers, VA benefits, TPAs, attorneys, motor vehicle carriers, employers, workers’ comp)
- Review denied or unpaid claims, identify the root cause, and determine next steps
- Gather and pursue information needed to overturn denials (patient/responsible party info, medical necessity, employer details, accident information)
- Draft appeals and work through web-based client and payer portals and notation databases
- Protect PHI and follow HIPAA requirements at all times
- Track timely filing requirements to maximize reimbursement
- Escalate complex or challenging accounts to management to keep progress moving
- Identify recurring issues and discuss trends/root causes with leadership
What You Need
- High professionalism and strong ethical judgment
- Comfort working within debt collection rules and regulations (as applicable to recovery workflows)
- HIPAA compliance mindset and discretion with sensitive data
- Moderate computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organization and documentation habits
- Solid math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) to calculate rates
- CPT/ICD familiarity preferred
