If you’re the kind of person who can calm a frustrated customer, protect the brand vibe, and keep a community from turning into a dumpster fire, Hungryroot is hiring. This role leans heavily into social and reputation management, especially Facebook Group moderation, while still handling the core customer support channels.
About Hungryroot
Hungryroot uses AI to personalize healthy living, recommending and delivering groceries, simple recipes, and supplements based on your goals, lifestyle, and budget. They’re remote-first across 28+ states, with a NYC headquarters and a culture built around collaboration, ownership, and flexibility, including virtual team events and an annual company retreat.
Schedule
Full-time, remote (U.S.)
40 hours per week in 8-hour shifts
Includes weekends and some holidays
Overtime may be needed during busy periods (and is a plus)
What You’ll Do
- Respond to a high volume of customer questions across email, phone, SMS, live chat, and social while hitting daily resolution targets, First Response Time goals, and SLAs

- Create a weekly community roundup highlighting feedback and themes across product, grocery discovery, and customer service
- Strengthen brand reputation on Reddit and Trustpilot with proactive engagement and platform-appropriate responses
- Spot emerging customer topics and translate them into actionable insights for Operations, Marketing, and Product
- Maintain quality and consistency in brand voice and tone while achieving CSAT goals
- Support lifecycle messaging through Braze, including issue and shipping communications during high-impact moments
- Maintain and update Zendesk macros, Help Center FAQs, and AI-agent templates for accuracy and speed
What You Need
- 2+ years in customer-facing support or communications
- Experience managing social channels or online communities (Facebook Groups strongly preferred)
- 1+ year using a CRM platform (Zendesk preferred; Kustomer or Gorgias also relevant)
- Braze familiarity is a plus
- Strong copywriting and editing skills
- Emotionally intelligent, solution-oriented communication style
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple tools
- Proactive, positive, transparent, ready to jump in
- Willing to travel occasionally for team-building
- Interest in healthy living and delivering great customer experiences
Benefits
- Pay range: $40,000–$50,000 (hourly, non-exempt, overtime eligible)
- Equity
- Remote-first flexibility (work from home, NYC office, or anywhere in the U.S.)
- Unlimited vacation policy
- Universal paid parental leave
- Monthly Hungryroot credit for groceries
- Health, vision, dental, life insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Work-from-home stipend for initial home office setup
One real talk note: this job is not “answer a few emails and vibe.” It’s high-volume, public-facing, and reputation-sensitive. If you like fast pace, clear targets, and being the calm adult in the room online, it’s a strong match.
Happy Hunting,
