Their Patient Service Representative team supports patients through registration, navigation, and problem-solving across the care journey. This billing-focused role sits in Clinical Operations and helps keep the financial side of care clear, accurate, and patient-friendly.
Schedule
Remote role with full flexibility to work from anywhere (quiet, distraction-free workspace and reliable internet required). Compensation is hourly: $23/hr.
What You’ll Do
⦁ Serve as the primary point of contact for patient billing inquiries, insurance questions, and complaints
⦁ Partner with clinical teams to verify insurance coverage and benefits before telehealth appointments
⦁ Help patients understand financial responsibility, payment options, and next steps with clarity and empathy
⦁ Use Zendesk to track, manage, and resolve billing cases promptly and professionally
⦁ Participate in audits to identify billing discrepancies and trends impacting patients and internal teams
⦁ Support cross-functional initiatives to improve billing workflows and the overall patient experience
⦁ Assist with verifying patient info, scheduling appointments, and updating EHR records as needed
⦁ Manage intake tasks, including forms, insurance documentation, and collecting payments
⦁ Safeguard PHI and follow regulatory and organizational guidelines to protect patient privacy
What You Need
⦁ 2–5 years delivering a best-in-class patient experience in healthcare or similar customer-facing environments
⦁ 1–2 years of billing experience (preferred)
⦁ 2 years of Zendesk experience
⦁ 2 years of Athena (Athenahealth) experience
⦁ 2 years of Google Workspace experience (required)
⦁ Strong written and verbal communication skills with a calm, professional tone
⦁ Reliable internet and a quiet, distraction-free workspace
