- Fully remote role; must reside in one of the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI.
- Full-time position in a phone- and computer-based office environment.
- Work involves significant time spent researching accounts, typing, and communicating with customers and partners.
What You’ll Do
- Intake, analyze, and research dispute claims and first payment defaults, resolving them within required timeframes and in line with network rules and regulations.
- Communicate professionally with customers, internal teams, financial institutions, and merchants via phone, email, fax, or letter throughout the dispute process.
- Use sound judgment and available tools to make informed decisions on approving or denying disputes and identifying root causes.
- Monitor disputed transactions to spot risk patterns more quickly and support loss reduction efforts.
- Assist with past-due customer outreach to obtain payments or resolve issues in compliance with company policies.
- Review suspicious or questionable claims and work dispute-related emails as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and service standards.
What You Need
- Associate degree in business, finance, communications, marketing, or a related field OR at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, and technical documents, and to write clear reports and correspondence.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively with customers and coworkers in group or one-on-one settings.
- Solid problem-solving skills and common-sense judgment when working through standardized processes and real-world issues.
- Comfortable working with word processing, spreadsheet, and internet-based software tools.
- Reliability, focus, and the ability to meet deadlines and adapt productively to change.
