As a Healthcare Customer Service Specialist, you’ll handle inbound and outbound calls, answer benefit and eligibility questions, schedule services, and help resolve claims or billing concerns. Schedule
- Fully remote within the United States
- Schedules fall between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time
- Specific shift assigned based on business needs
- On camera expected for interviews, training, meetings, and regular check ins
What You’ll Do
⦁ Answer inbound calls and place outbound calls to assist members or patients with benefits, eligibility, scheduling, and service coordination
⦁ Provide clear, accurate information about health plan coverage, benefits, and account status
⦁ Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments with healthcare providers
⦁ Process referrals, authorizations, prescription renewals, and related requests
⦁ Help members or patients with claims questions, billing inquiries, and account updates
⦁ Verify insurance or plan eligibility and update records in the system
⦁ Document all interactions in electronic systems such as EMR or CRM tools
⦁ Communicate with providers and internal teams via phone, secure messaging, or email
⦁ Protect member and patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and privacy guidelines
⦁ Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the appropriate team or supervisor
What You Need
⦁ High school diploma or equivalent
⦁ 1+ year of call center customer service experience handling high call volume
⦁ 1+ year of healthcare or health insurance experience (member, patient, or provider services, benefits support, etc.)
⦁ Stable work history with at least one year of tenure per role
⦁ Strong verbal and written communication skills with a positive, cooperative tone
⦁ Ability to manage sensitive information discreetly and comply with privacy regulations in a remote setting
⦁ Comfort navigating multiple systems and screens while staying engaged with callers
⦁ Reliable high speed internet and a private, designated home workspace
⦁ Commitment to a long term role and building a career with the organization
⦁ Comfortable being on camera for training, team meetings, and regular check ins
⦁ Preferred: experience with appointment scheduling, EMR/CRM systems (such as EPIC or Facets), and basic medical or insurance terminology
