As a Prior Authorization Representative, you handle inbound requests about prescription prior authorizations, review documentation, and provide timely status updates. Schedule
- Fully remote within the United States
- Full time role with no fixed end date
- Training: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Time
- Production: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central Time
- No weekend work required
What You’ll Do
- Take inbound calls and faxes from members, providers, and internal teams about medication prior authorizations
- Provide clear status updates on prior authorization requests and next steps
- Review medication inquiries and follow up with healthcare providers for missing or clarifying information
- Read and interpret provider documentation, entering accurate data into internal systems
- Manage multiple requests while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Use problem solving skills to support members and providers while staying within policy and guidelines
- Work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with your team and leadership
What You Need
- At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, claims, or medical administrative work
- At least 2 years of customer service or call center experience
- At least 6 months of recent continuous employment with a prior employer
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and fast, accurate data entry
- Knowledge of basic medical and healthcare terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Comfortable working on camera for interviews, training, meetings, and check ins
- 100 percent attendance required during training and no time off in the first 60 days
- Your own 19 inch or larger monitor with VGA or HDMI port and cable, USB wired mouse, ethernet cable, and optional USB wired keyboard
- Reliable hardwired internet with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: prior medication prior authorization experience
