What You’ll Do

⦁ Maintain 24 to 48 hour turn times while responding to underwriting scenario questions and guideline clarification requests
⦁ Communicate daily with Loan Officers, Underwriters, and Processors to resolve file level issues and provide clear guidance
⦁ Research AllRegs and agency guidelines to support accurate, compliant answers on FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, HFA, and Non QM scenarios
⦁ Interact with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/HUD, USDA, VA, and HFA agencies as needed for clarification and alignment
⦁ Track and maintain a list of trending underwriting scenarios and use those insights to recommend more efficient processes across operations and originations
⦁ Attend and participate in company wide Operations huddles to share updates, trends, and guidance
⦁ Maintain the Self Employed Income Dashboard, including reviewing tax returns, identifying missing documentation, and submitting income packages to IncomeGenius
⦁ Draft and distribute weekly communications on common or emerging topics that surface on the Underwriting Helpdesk
⦁ Troubleshoot Encompass issues from application through processing, including DU errors, address corrections, DTI calculation problems, and credit reporting issues
⦁ Support Partners across Retail and TPO channels with knowledge of channel specific overlays and guidelines, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Power Help Desk

What You Need

⦁ High school diploma or equivalent
⦁ Minimum 5 years of experience working with FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, VA, and HFA guidelines
⦁ Complete knowledge of the mortgage industry and agency products
⦁ Non QM experience preferred
⦁ Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, and HFA agencies, plus RESPA requirements and Good Faith Estimate preparation and disclosure
⦁ Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex guidelines into clear direction
⦁ Solid technology skills, including MS Office Suite and preferred experience with Encompass
⦁ Detail oriented, highly organized, and skilled at multitasking in a deadline driven environment
⦁ Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and use sound judgment when making decisions that impact Partners and the business
