What You’ll Do

⦁ Receive inbound calls and inquiries related to vehicle registration and other matters under NHTSA’s jurisdiction, in both English and Spanish

⦁ Handle calls courteously and efficiently using professional telephone etiquette and clear, friendly communication

⦁ Listen carefully, identify caller needs, and provide accurate information or next steps

⦁ Deal effectively with irate or distressed callers while staying calm, respectful, and solution-focused

⦁ Screen, transfer, or escalate calls appropriately and take complete, accurate messages

⦁ Perform follow-up research to resolve caller issues and support timely problem resolution

⦁ Manage a high volume of calls while staying organized and meeting performance expectations

What You Need

⦁ High school diploma or GED (some college coursework preferred)

⦁ 1–3 years of experience that includes work in a customer service call center or contact center

⦁ Fluency in Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both English and Spanish

⦁ Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

⦁ Strong oral and written communication skills plus solid research, organizational, and time management abilities

⦁ Good problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines

⦁ U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and the ability to obtain a public trust security clearance
