What You’ll Do

⦁ Answer incoming calls and inquiries related to vehicle safety recalls, child safety seats, vehicle equipment, publications, and other matters under NHTSA’s jurisdiction

⦁ Use professional phone etiquette on every call, including clear communication, active listening, and courteous call handling

⦁ Manage a high volume of calls while staying calm, organized, and focused on providing accurate information

⦁ Identify the issue behind each inquiry and complete any needed follow up research to resolve the caller’s questions

⦁ Transfer calls appropriately, take complete and accurate messages, and close each call in a professional, respectful manner

⦁ Support timely resolution of call center issues by following established processes and documenting interactions as required

What You Need

⦁ High school diploma or GED, with some college coursework preferred

⦁ 1 to 2 years of experience that includes work in a customer service call center or contact center environment

⦁ Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

⦁ Strong verbal and written communication skills with solid organizational and time management abilities

⦁ Good problem solving skills with the ability to multi task and meet strict deadlines

⦁ Proficiency in Spanish is a plus

⦁ US citizenship or permanent residency and the ability to obtain a public trust security clearance
