- Monday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM CST
- Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM CST
- Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM CST
- Thursday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM CST
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM CST
- Environment: High-volume phone work and computer-based scheduling in a virtual setting
What You’ll Do
- Schedule patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures according to physician orders
- Confirm and verify patient information, insurance coverage, and any authorization requirements
- Clearly communicate appointment details, preparation instructions, and follow-up steps to patients
- Coordinate complex or multi-department schedules with clinical teams
- Handle schedule changes, cancellations, and reschedules quickly and accurately
- Maintain accurate records in scheduling software and hospital information systems
- Answer high-volume incoming calls and respond to patient and provider questions
- Ensure all scheduling activities follow hospital policies, confidentiality rules, and HIPAA standards
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office or administrative training preferred
- Prior hospital or clinic scheduling experience preferred
- Comfortable working on the phone for long stretches with a professional, friendly tone
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, especially under deadline or high call volume
- Proficiency with scheduling software and/or hospital systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc. a plus)
- Solid computer skills and ability to work in multiple systems/screens at once
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service mindset with strong attention to accuracy and detail
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for most of the day and handle frequent interruptions
