Schedule
- Full-time position
- Fully remote within the United States (role is based out of Chicago, IL)
- Standard weekday business hours
- Requires high-speed cable or fiber internet (at least 100 Mbps download / 25 Mbps upload) for reliable remote work
What You’ll Do
- Audit and reconcile financial data from multiple sources, including claim funds and premium accounts
- Post financial transactions in the accounting system and track activity for assigned client groups
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial data and reports
- Perform weekly and monthly claim fund reconciliations and prepare related reporting
- Organize and analyze data to spot trends, solve problems, and recommend process improvements
- Support funding-related processes and provide backup coverage for other team members when needed
- Help build and maintain internal financial workflows, tools, and process documentation
- Assist with special projects and department initiatives as assigned
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years of experience in financial operations (accounting, banking, billing, or similar)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivots, etc.)
- Experience with Great Plains or other accounting software preferred
- Microsoft Access knowledge is a plus
- Health insurance or medical stop loss experience is a plus but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with serious attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and stay organized in a remote environment
