What You’ll Lead
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor Collections Specialists + contractors
- Oversee denials and A/R follow-up and ensure timely resolutions
- Lead payer escalation conversations and own strategic payer engagement
- Track performance trends, update leadership, and strengthen reporting
- Oversee SOP creation, quality control, and compliance documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Credentialing & RCM
- Drive A/R optimization, reduce aging, and hit team KPIs
- Lead improvement initiatives and automation efforts
First 90 Days
You will:
- Master internal RCM platforms (Athena, Zuora, Salesforce, Spark, JIRA)
- Own team productivity expectations and reporting cadence
- Establish payer strategy, aging targets, and escalation frameworks
- Build trusted cross-team partnerships
- Identify risks, wins, and workflow improvements
- Present a roadmap to improve aging and team execution
What You Bring
- 5–7+ years in healthcare revenue cycle + denials leadership
- 2+ years leading teams (FTEs + contractors)
- Strong CPT / HCPCS / ICD-10 + payer rules background
- Proven record of lowering aging A/R and improving recovery timelines
- Hands-on experience with RCM systems (Athena, Zuora, etc.)
- Data-driven operator with strong communication + coaching skills
- Ability to turn payer challenges into documented solutions and action
