What You’ll Do
- Coordinate with underwriting teammates to gather documentation and address claims inquiries from adjusters, market partners, and London brokers
- Work with senior underwriting leadership to manage complex claims involving policy wording conflicts, breaches, and denials
- Monitor claims notifications, identify potential loss trends, and provide reporting on underwriting concerns
- Analyze claims data, spot trends, and prepare insights to support business decisions
- Track property and liability claims activity, reporting on large reserve increases or delays
- Participate in monthly claims meetings with third-party administrators and insurers to discuss industry and portfolio trends
- Collaborate to improve policy wording and claims outcomes, driving shared strategies with partners
- Stay current on regulatory changes and industry trends impacting claims
- Build strong relationships with adjusters, brokers, insurers, and internal leadership
What You Need
- 7+ years commercial underwriting experience and/or 3+ years claims experience (MGA experience an asset)
- Knowledge of property and complex casualty claims
- Strong interpersonal, written, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Level 1 General Insurance License (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP, or in-progress designation preferred
- Positive, disciplined, and solutions-focused attitude
Compensation
- $75,000 – $110,000+ CAD annually (based on experience and qualifications)
