Responsibilities
- Serve as named resource for large, complex Managed Payroll Premium customers.
- Manage a portfolio of payroll cases to meet service level agreements and ensure high client satisfaction.
- Coordinate distribution of customer payroll work across the service team.
- Handle complex escalations, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective measures.
- Lead or attend scheduled client calls and onboarding sessions as a senior payroll resource.
- Support configuration of complex Workday payroll elements, including pay components and run categories.
- Provide reference and escalation support for configuration activities.
- Maintain daily SOPs and checklists, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Meet or exceed productivity and accuracy metrics.
- Act as team lead: delegate tasks, coach, train, and mentor team members.
- Support new customer implementations and the sales process as needed.
- Safeguard sensitive customer and payroll data by following all security protocols.
Requirements
- Associate degree required.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) required at time of hire, OR 15+ years of payroll and customer service experience (end-to-end processing, research, complex troubleshooting).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, payroll taxes, compliance, and year-end/W-2 support.
- Experience handling demanding clients and complex payroll scenarios.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and customer communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and mentor team members.
Preferred
- Experience with Workday Payroll.
- Background in outsourcing, payroll or tax services.
- Multi-jurisdiction tax or year-end adjustments expertise.
- Systems implementation or accounting/GL experience.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
