Schedule
- Full-time, remote (US-based)
- Flexible schedule with daily claims submission responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit hospital, hospital-based physician, and Rural Health Clinic claims to Medicare (via electronic or D.D.E. submission)
- Secure necessary medical documentation requested by Medicare
- Follow up on unpaid claims until paid or transferred to self-pay
- Process claim rejections by correcting errors or resubmitting to Medicare/third-party carriers
- Submit claim appeals to maximize reimbursement
- Ensure all claims are submitted daily with zero-error goals
- Conduct denial management and respond to insurance inquiries
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and resolve discrepancies
- Collaborate with Billing Manager/Supervisor to address reimbursement issues
- Review and act on reports identifying readmissions, overlapping service dates, or payer credits according to payer rules and client policy
- Assist with team projects and maintain excellent customer service standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- At least 3 years of hospital billing experience (including outside TruBridge)
- Medicare D.D.E. experience required
- Experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding (preferred)
- Familiarity with claim appeals and reimbursement resolution (preferred)
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
