What You’ll Do
- Answer incoming patient calls and schedule appointments across multiple locations
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with patients and their families
- Document and confirm appointments accurately in the system
- Determine the correct clinician, appointment type, and location based on patient needs
- Manage incoming faxes from referral sources
- Route general inquiry calls appropriately
- Follow up with patients regarding missed or rescheduled appointments
- Provide best-in-class service and uphold Hanger’s values at every interaction
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of related experience (customer service, call center, medical records, or insurance)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions with accuracy
- Proficiency with Windows-based software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and billing systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPC/CPT coding, and insurance regulations
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Enthusiastic, positive, and detail-oriented
- Preferred: Bilingual Spanish, experience with O&P, and familiarity with EMR systems (NextGen)
