About the Role
The Settlement & Funding Team is responsible for the pre-closing process which includes deal and fee structure, trade activity, document management, KYC and settlement coordination. The Portfolio Administration Team is responsible for the booking of deals, daily servicing activity including payment processing, advances and rate resets as well as the maintenance of referential data. The Operations Team plays a pivotal role in the data integrity of the investment portfolios and they collaborate closely with many other areas of the Firm including the Front Office, Treasury, Tax and Fund Accounting.
Position Responsibilities
The Settlement Specialist has responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:
- Handling loan trade settlements across multiple funds
- Monitoring / coordinating daily cash flows between trustees and the Treasury Team
- Creating and coordinating execution of trade documents (e.g., Assignment Agreements, Funding Memos and Trade Tickets)
- Understanding trading specifics including delayed compensation, economic benefit and PIK
- Working closely with Agents / Counterparties to ensure timely settlement
- Confirming all required internal approvals have been received
- Distributing settlement documents to all appropriate parties
- Confirming cash disbursements have been made accurately
Know Your Customer (“KYC”) & Tax:
- Understanding complex corporate structures
- Coordinating requests for tax forms
- Understanding incorporation documentation requirements
Additional Responsibilities:
- Bond settlement
- Assisting with audit requests and special projects as needed
- Updating procedures as needed
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience with ClearPar and LSTA trade documentation preferred
- Knowledge of Broadly Syndicated Loans
- Experience reviewing legal documentation, specifically credit agreements
- Experience pulling basic loan parameters from Credit Agreements (e.g., interest rates, amortizations)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture
