In this role, you’ll be responsible for reviewing, researching, investigating, and triaging all types of claims, appeals and grievances. This position is full-time Exempt. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise, monitor, and track team’s productivity, schedule adherence, and quality results
- Serve as first point of escalation for staff on procedural and technical issues; and coach staff regarding how to effectively resolve the issue(s)
- Maintain a positive work environment that supports a quality driven staff and identify any issues that may inhibit an individual’s or the team’s performance
- Investigate trends, surface issues, identify root problems and collaboratively work with specific team / individuals to resolve issues
- Serve as a leader by directing the team and ensuring the team successfully applies proper claim procedures strategy to each interaction
- Identify skill development needs associated with career progression opportunities and ensure employees receive appropriate coaching / training to validate needs are met
- Communication throughout workday via a high volume of emails
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency to drive issues to closure

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 2+ years of Supervisory experience
- 2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Word (creating and editing documents), and Microsoft Excel (filters, create and editing spreadsheets)
- 1+ years of work experience using a computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Healthcare / Insurance industry experience
- Ability to work full-time, Monday – Friday between 8:00am 5:00pm CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Claims experience
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Extended periods of sitting at a computer and use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse
- Experience working in a metrics driven environment measuring production and quality

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Washington or New York, Rhode Island Residents Only: The salary range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Nevada / Washington / New York / Rhode Island residents is $46,700 – $91,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
