Key Responsibilities
- Insurance, billing and accounts receivables follow-up to include research and rebilling of claims, identifying client aging balances, and processing of insurance and client overpayments
- Payment posting and credit card processing of client and insurance balances due.
- Trending and Investigation of aging balances and bad debt
- Outbound collections and follow-up with clients and insurance companies
- Resolve payment disputes between counselors, clients, and insurance companies.
- Process overpayments.
- Provides Outstanding Customer Service to both internal and external customers utilizing phone, email, and chat features
- Keep accurate records and report collection activity, while updating account status and documenting collection efforts
- Assist in data entry projects and reports
- Audit demographics, insurance verification, and case management
- Adhere to HIPAA laws and PHI
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, High school diploma with equivalent work experience accepted
- 3 years Experience with patient collections or medical billing, preferred in the mental health, medical office or collection agency for medical debt
- A firm grasp of web-based billing software or Electronic Health Records
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional acumen through action and communication
- Must be able to learn new concepts and processes quickly
- An above average aptitude with internet/computer use
- Energetic, with a positive attitude
- True and patient problem solving skills
- Must be very detail oriented
- Self-driven attitude and ability to work well independently
- Solid work history and transferable skills
- Experience in high-pressure environments
- A commitment to changing schedules outside normal work hours, including weekends
