📋 What You’ll Own
• Identify and document all reportable tumor cases
• Abstract and code data from medical records and external sources
• Maintain accuracy using AJCC, STORE, SEER, and NCCN guidelines
• Conduct quality audits, peer reviews, and data validation
• Generate statistical reports for research, accreditation, and internal stakeholders
• Participate in team meetings, cancer committee sessions, and special studies
• Support compliance with CoC and HIPAA regulations
• Uphold 90% quality threshold on abstracted data
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• Associate degree required
• Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) credential
• 3+ years of cancer registry/abstracting experience preferred
• Solid grasp of anatomy, oncology treatment, coding/staging systems
• Experience with AJCC TNM staging, SEER, STORE, and SSDIs
• Detail-oriented, strong communicator, self-directed
• Must be comfortable working with EMRs, registry systems, and Excel
