QMC is hiring an A/R Management Specialist to join its remote billing team focused on emergency medical transportation reimbursement. This is a critical role ensuring timely and accurate collection from both insurers and patients. If you’ve got claims experience and can work a phone and a spreadsheet like a pro, this one’s in your wheelhouse.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Call hospitals, insurance companies, attorneys, and patients to verify claims or gather missing information
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims daily
- Work denials and appeals to resolution
- Update claim activity in the internal processing system
- Handle self-pay accounts, including patient calls and payment plans
- Ensure accounts are fully worked before being sent to collections
- Manage assigned special projects from the manager
- Always protect patient data (HIPAA compliance is a must)
🎯 Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in billing, collections, or claims
- Prior medical billing and ICD-10/HCPCS knowledge is a bonus
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Typing speed of 35 WPM or more preferred
- Organized, independent, and comfortable working fast
