Pomelo Care is reshaping maternal and newborn care with a tech-forward, patient-first approach. As a Referral Specialist, you’ll be on the front lines connecting clients with life-changing doula support through the Pomelo Care doula network. This role blends outreach, healthcare coordination, and compassion-driven service to help reduce maternal health disparities—especially for Medicaid populations.


Position Highlights
Salary Range: $45,000–$55,000
Employment Type: Full-time
Remote: Yes (U.S.-based)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM CT

📋 What You’ll Own
• Conduct outbound outreach (calls, texts, emails) to enroll referred clients into doula care
• Match clients with available doulas from Pomelo’s national network
• Coordinate with health plans, case managers, and healthcare providers
• Confirm Medicaid eligibility using online tools and clearinghouses
• Track and document all referral activity and client communication accurately
• Manage inbound calls from clients and external partners
• Educate clients on the benefits of doula support
• Meet or exceed enrollment goals tied to performance metrics
• Stay current on maternal health trends through ongoing training


🎯 Must-Have Traits
• Fluent in Spanish (verbal and written)
• Professional and empathetic communication skills
• Experience working in healthcare or referral systems
• Internet-ready and equipped for remote work
• Comfortable supporting Medicaid patients
• Organized, responsive, and process-oriented
• Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative team setting
